Risopatrón lake and river
Surrounded by dense evergreen forest in a pristine landscape, Lake and River Risopatrón are among the best places for fly fishing on the Carretera Austral. It is the perfect setting for anglers who enjoy fishing as a sport, but also the silence and peace of nature.
Fish along Lake Risopatrón from our boats or walk and wade the Risopatrón River. Here you can catch brown and rainbow trout, and several species of salmon, such as chinook, that run up the river to spawn. El Pangue Lodge is one of the few access points to the lake, so you will have the water practically to yourself.
A valid Chilean recreational fishing licence is required. Ask at reception about boats, outings and the conditions of each season.
Fly Fishing school
If you have never fly fished before, or have little experience, you can take an introductory course. It starts with a casting lesson at the lodge's pond, and at the end you can try your luck with one of the trophy fish that live in it. Afterwards, you can put what you learned into practice on a fishing trip to Lake Risopatrón.
Round off your day with some kayaking, a walk along the lodge trails or a soak in the heated pool and hot tubs.
